Studies of potato resistance to <i>Globodera rostochiensis</i> revealed novel alleles for 57R marker

Globodera rostochiensis resistance has been an important trait in potato (Solanum tuberosum) breeding for decades. Our aim was to complement phenotypic testing with genetic marker analysis. We analysed the results of G. greenhouse 4601 tubers 2918 clones from 11 years. Applicability H1 gene markers TG689 and 57R compared. implemented latter positive predictive value 99.1% negative 60.0% into scheme. The alleles 22 Estonian cultivars 470 were determined. Two unique alleles, 57R-887 57R-1155, found cultivar ‘Anti’. 887 bp allele two deletions (14 490 bp) accompanied by several other indels SNPs within region. 1155 three (7 bp, 20 210 same Partial ‘Anti’ suggests that newly described could affect H1-mediated directly or indirectly.
